Technical notes about this website

First of all, this website was originally optimized for a screen resolution of 1024x768. You can of course view it at a lower resolution as well, but the original site did not guarantee correct display. Another important note from the old version was that the pages were optimized mainly for MS Internet Explorer 5.0 and newer. The modern version keeps the content, but the layout has been rebuilt so it can be used comfortably in current browsers and on mobile devices.
I will still be glad if you let me know about any problems you find, so I can try to fix them.

What you can find here

This website is dedicated exclusively to creating and editing Tomb Raider levels and to everything related to that topic. You will not find news about the official Tomb Raider series here. The site describes the official TRLE editor, but mainly the unofficial DXTre3D editor. It also contains tutorials for helper tools such as WadMerger, FexMerger, TGAStudio, StrPix, Tomb PC editor and others. The tutorials were originally prepared in Czech, including screenshots, and some of them also include example projects. Beginners can also use Flash tutorials that show individual procedures through animations. There is also a forum focused on level building and a chat where problems can be discussed online with more experienced level authors.
A website about level building would not be complete without custom levels. You can therefore find many levels here, mostly by Czech and Slovak authors. Several test levels show the first attempts and experiments of these authors. Each published level also has a walkthrough, in case you get stuck. Walkthroughs are available not only for levels published directly on this website.
This is only a small selection of what can be found here. The website continues to evolve and is updated with new information from the field of level editing and level building.

Interactive parts of the website

As mentioned above, the website includes a forum and a chat. Registration is required in the forum to access sections focused on editing. Some users can also belong to user groups. These users may get access to the newest updates and articles before they are made public, and they can help complete them, correct them, or simply comment on them. Anyone who wants to join one of these groups only needs to read what is required for the selected group. Usually it means helping with the website, or being the author of a custom level. These groups were created mainly as a response to the passivity of readers, and their purpose was to motivate useful activity for both the website and its visitors.
The chat is simple. You can register there, but it is not required. Registration mostly protects your nickname from misuse. Users appear there from time to time to talk about Tomb Raider. It is also possible to arrange a chat meeting through the forum for a specific time.

This website is still open to new ideas

If you think something is missing here, or if you have something you would like to contribute, feel free to contact me and we can discuss your idea. Contact information is available at the bottom of every page.

Hosting your custom levels

Do you have your own level and would you like to host it on this website? That is not a problem. The only required thing is a walkthrough for your level. The walkthrough will usually be published about one month after the level is released. This gives players time to deal with the level without being able to look into the walkthrough. Nothing else is required. You can send the level to me by e-mail, or if it is larger, upload it somewhere and send me only the link. I will download it and place it on the website. Your level will also be presented on foreign forums, which can help it reach foreign websites as well. For that reason it is useful if the level contains a Readme file in both Czech and English. More information can be obtained in the interactive parts of the website or by e-mail.

Icon and banner exchange

This is possible as well. However, your icon or banner will not be placed on the homepage. The proper place for this is the Partner websites section, where your link can be added. This is a link exchange, so you also need to place a link on your own website. Links placed on this website may be removed again without giving a reason, and the owner of the linked website does not have to be notified.
Links in the Czech websites and Foreign websites sections are placed at the discretion of the site administrator and, unlike the Partner websites section, they are always related to Tomb Raider and level editing.

Join us

Join us and represent Czech level building. Anyone who has already created a level can join. If you think you cannot create levels yet, that is not a problem. Just look around this website and you can start learning how it is done. It is not difficult, but it takes quite a lot of time.
